1997 Kingsford Smith $1 Silver Proof Coin

- This limited edition 1997 $1 fine silver proof coin has been released to honour the centenary of the birth of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith.

- The reverse of this $1 coin was designed by the Mint's talented engraver Wojciech Pietranik. The design features a raised and frosted image of Sir Charles in flight dress with his famous tri-engine monoplane 'The Southern Cross'.
