Product Overview

2021 $1 Centenary of Rotary In Australia 1921 - 2021 Coin & Stamp Cover PNC.

The first Rotary Club in Australia met in Melbourne on 21 April 1921, with Sir John Monash a founding member. Today there are more than 26,000 active members, in more than 1,000 clubs.

Rotary in Australia is part of the broader Rotary International, founded in the USA in 1905 by Paul Harris, a Chicago lawyer. It is now a service-based worldwide movement devoted to community and humanitarian service, with more than 1.2 million members and 36,000 clubs.

The motto of Rotary International, 'service above self', reflects the organisation's humanitarian principles. Since its foundation, Rotary International has performed an essential role in international understanding and peace-building.

To mark 100 years of Rotary in Australia, Rotary is celebrating the past, but more importantly looking into the future, with many new projects that deliver real, long-term solutions to the world' most persistent issues.

During the centenary celebration, there will be events, fundraisers and initiatives to bring about positive change in the region and throughout the world. As 'People of Action". Australian Rotarians look forward to the next century of service.

Issued as Australian legal tender, the uncirculated aluminium bronze coin is housed in a beautifully designed card with a circular window revealing the coin's reverse and obverse designs.

The coin's reverse features a coloured rotary symbol.

The envelope is post marked First Date of Issue 6th April 2021, Melbourne VIC 3000.

The coin's obverse features the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2021 year-date and the monetary denomination.
