The first Australian coloured coin to be struck for circulation this $2 Remembrance Day coin features the Flanders Poppy on the reverse rendered in striking scarlet.
The poppy presents a solemn and beautiful symbol of those who fought and died in all wars and conflicts. Embellished using the Royal Australian Mint's colour printing technology the coin is an enduring tribute to the memory of the fallen.
These coins were struck by the Royal Australian Mint Canberra for distribution by RSL clubs throughout Australia as part of their annual November 11 red poppy appeal.
